The City Council met in a regular session on the 3rd
day of December at 7:00 PM in the Council Room.
Present: Greg Hansen, Donald E. Johnson, Todd Harrington,
Leonard McLaughlin, and Xiong Yang
Also Present: Tom Hansen, Deb Johnson and Dave Hoyt
The purpose of the meeting was to approve the 2009 Tax Levy to
be certified to the county and to discuss the 2009 wages,
benefits, fees, rates and policies along with the 2009 projected
increases for supplies and services.
Motion by Donald E. Johnson, second by Todd Harrington to
approve the Total 2009 Tax Levy of $176,000 to the Redwood
County Auditor. All voted in favor, motion carried.
The employees asked the Council to allow the City Clerk to pay
for their AFLAC policies through the city and then reduce the
amount put into the flexible spending account by the amount of
the premiums. By doing this, the employees are able to get
reduced rates on their AFLAC policies. The council approved
this option.
Wage, rates, fees and benefit options were discussed and will be
decided at the regular Council Meeting on December 8.
Motion by Donald E. Johnson, second by Xiong Yang, to approve
Claims #29762 through #29806. All voted in favor, motion
carried.
Motion by Leonard McLaughlin, second by Todd Harrington to
adjourn. All voted in favor, motion carried.
